Antonella, the youngest of three siblings, was born in Perth to Italian parents who immigrated in the early 1960s, making her a first-generation Australian. She dedicates herself to her daughter and enjoys creative activities such as painting, design, and cooking. Antonella’s interests span in art, architecture, classical music, and jazz. In time, her aim is to spend part of every year in the south of France.

As an author, Antonella aims to inspire children to pay attention to their surroundings and remain curious—whether they’re wandering through their own neighbourhoods or imagining distant places. Aware that not every family can travel abroad, she sets her stories in diverse locations so young readers can picture themselves in new worlds. Her goal is to encourage possibility, foster awareness of history and culture, and remind children that adventure is everywhere, meant to be shared with family, friends, and beloved pets.

Antonella was introduced to Sydney, a dog, through her daughter, who is Sydney’s pet sitter. When Sydney’s owners go on vacation, Antonella visits her daughter and Sydney, sometimes prompting playful remarks from her daughter about Antonella’s enthusiasm for the dog. While Antonella values her time with both her daughter and Sydney, she has a special fondness for Sydney. Known for being calm and confident, Sydney is admired by those around her and brings affection, peace, and excitement to everyone she meets. Antonella is genuinely grateful to have met Sydney.
